(Westchester/Bronx) – Assemblymember Amy Paulin today formally announced her endorsement of George Latimer for Congress in the 16th Congressional District. Paulin, who served alongside Latimer in the State Legislature, praised his track record of delivering real progressive results while standing strong against antisemitism and violence.
“I’m supporting George because he has a proven track record of delivering on the issues that matter to our community. George and I have successfully worked together to protect abortion rights, fight domestic violence, expand LGBTQ rights, take on climate change, and address our high cost of living. Time and again George gets the job done,” said Assemblymember Paulin. “More importantly, George knows that we must stand with our democratic allies from Israel to the Ukraine in these uncertain times. We are experiencing horrifying levels of antisemitism and prejudice, and we need a leader who realizes that an attack on Jews anywhere in the world is an attack on all Jews. I’m proud to support George, and I look forward to helping him win in June and November.”
“I want to thank Amy for her endorsement; she is not only a consummate legislator but a great friend and an amazing ally, so her support means a lot,” said Latimer. “With our democracy under attack, we need Democrats like Amy who understand how important it is to make government function and stand strong for our democratic principles. It’s as honor to get her endorsement, and it adds to our growing momentum in this campaign.”
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of Senator Shelley Mayer’s endorsement last week, adding to Latimer’s momentum early in the campaign.
